Senet board

My grandfather attended The Oriental Institute for a degree in Egyptology, and I have had the privilege of inheriting many of his books, including one with a beautiful image of a senet board found in Tutankhamen’s tomb. Ebony, ivory, and gilded, it’s incentive to take up carpentry.
I was lucky enough to find a box with the right dimensions, although a more historic example would have a pull-out drawer on one end. I painted it with the board markings and hieroglyphics on the ancient model.
